The Hardbeats – Rewind

Around since 2021, The Hardbeats from Spain released their second album, ‘Rewind’ in 2023 as a follow up to their 2021 album ‘London ’79’

Kicking off the album is ‘Along the Way’, an upbeat danceable tune about the travels and experiences of a band on the road:

“A caravan of bandoleros
all crammed inside a run-down van
all of those couches that we slept upon
as we made our way across the land”

It’s a great start to what turns out to be an excellent album.

‘Motivation’ keeps the pace going and doesn’t disappoint, enriched with some awesome horns. ‘New Heroes’ throws in a bit of pop-punk into the mix, followed by ‘Connection’ which definitely has an old school ska vibe…👌

Next up, The Hardbeats turn their hands to a bit of Ska-punk with ‘All For Nothing’ which at one point even sounds like it’s going to launch into the Pink Panther theme…although it might just be me that can hear that! 😄 Have a listen, it can’t just be me!

‘Last Train’ is a track sung in the bands mother tongue, so can’t really say what it’s about until I brush up on my Spanish but it’s a great tune.

‘Showtime’ is the penultimate track and this is a TUNE!! 😍🏁
A total killer ska tune about the feelings i can only assume you feel as you step onto stage as a band and there’s a full crowd bouncing along with you. This is without doubt my favourite on the album and I bet it sounds awesome live! Great stuff.

The album is rounded off with a bit of Reggae in the form of ‘North End Road’…a great way to end it.

I loved this album, definitely worth adding to your playlists. It’s available on all the usual streaming sites. While you’re at it, give their 2021 album a listen too! Great stuff!
