Specials documentary set to appear on Sky Arts in the U.K.

Clear the evening of Tuesday 19th March and set the telly box to record! Sky Arts in the UK are set to air the third episode in The ‘Record On’, a documentary series delving into the making of groundbreaking albums, examining the social, cultural and political focus of the time and the motivations of some of the world’s most prominent artists.

Following on from the first two episodes featuring Paul Wellers ‘Wild Wood’ and New Orders ‘Power, Corruption & Lies’, this episode will examine the story behind The Specials’ 1979 self-titled debut album, exploring how the band’s music was influenced by social, economic and political events and how they have continued to shape contemporary music and popular culture internationally.

Judging by comments online regarding the first two episodes of the series, which were pretty well received, we should be in for a good watch!

Record On: The Specials – A Message to You airs on Sky Arts, Tuesday 19th March at 9pm.
