Scotlands ‘The Owls’ to release debut double ‘A’ side single.

The Owls - Two Tone Summer single

Hailing from Perth, Scotland, The Owls will release their debut single on August 10th.

‘Two-Tone Summer’ is an upbeat, danceable tribute to all that is black and white. With a poignant nod to Terry Hall thrown in, it’s a great tune and is excellently produced.

‘Skandal’ then get’s political, with an open dig at the UK’s media outlets, urging the listener to go and find the facts out for themselves instead of believing everything you read or hear! It’s another well produced, upbeat track.

Both songs are impressive, especially considering they mark the band’s transition from a covers-only group to releasing original material. These tracks could easily hold their own among those from more established bands.

I eagerly anticipate more releases from this talented quartet—John Ramsay, Mike Lee, Rory Connaghan, and Mikey Maclennan—and hope to see an album in the near future.

The Owls are currently on a UK tour, including performances at the Rewind Festival in Perth and the Blam Blam Fever Ska Festival in North East England. They will also host a single launch party in their hometown of Perth on August 10th, featuring a DJ set by Nasher of ‘Frankie Goes to Hollywood
