Madame Claude Ride Again with the Infectious ‘Happy Life’

Madame Claude - Happy Life

There’s a wave of fresh-faced young ska bands making noise right now, and Saddleworth’s own Madame Claude are right up there among the most exciting.

Blending classic ska rhythms with whatever else they can get their hands on, the band have created a sound that’s as unpredictable as it is addictive. From the brilliantly anthemic “Jelly Legs” to the utterly inexplicable yet irresistibly catchy “Worraz” (yes, the one about the difference between an ostrich and an emu), Madame Claude are impossible to ignore and frankly, why would you want to?

Now they’re back with a brand new single, “Happy Life”, released last month. This one pairs their trademark choppy guitar riffs with a twang straight out of a spaghetti western and somehow, it works. In fact, it more than works; it’s bold, unexpected, and 100% Madame Claude.

Madame Claude

You really should give it a spin and while you’re at it, dive into the rest of their tunes. You won’t regret it.

I’ll be catching these guys live in Whitby in a couple of weeks, and I honestly can’t wait.
