France’s ‘Old Boys In Town’ release first album
Only formed in 2022, ‘Old Boys in Town’ are relatively new to the scene and to have an album out there so soon is quite an achievement!
The album kicks off with ‘Working Day’ a deep, bassy ska number with deep gravely vocals that hit you right where it hurts! A great start to what proves to be a decent debut from the French outfit.
The album is a mix of upbeat danceable tunes, intertwined with slower reggae style numbers and it all flows really well.
Standout tracks for me are the first track ‘Working Day’, ‘Jump Over the Fence’ with it’s grinding keyboard, ‘My Favourite Shirt’ and the penultimate track ‘Who Is It?’.
I must admit, when I first heard this album, I wasn’t sure about the vocals but they grew on me the more I listened and I ended up really liking the uniqueness of them 👍
‘Old Boys in Town’ are certainly worth watching out for and I’ll be interested to see what’s next from them! It’s not often we see new bands these days so it’s great to have them on the scene!
