DESCRIPTION:AKA The Syndicate & The New Tonic @ Dublin Castle\, London \nAKA The Syndicate – AKA The Syndicate released their self-titled debut album\, full of original ska\, reggae and punk influenced music in 2021 which saw one song stand out\, capturing the zeitgeist of the times. In response\, the group pieced together a remote music video\, an anthem of isolation titled ‘Hands Up (Who’s Coming With Me?) which was followed by the moody ” Two Sides Of The City”. \nTheir debut album was described by Scootering Magazine as “A pop-tinged reggae album that brings to mind a wide variety of other bands\, from Madness at their most successful to very early UB40\, and maybe even a hint of No Doubt thrown in for good measure.” \nTheir second album ‘It’s Our World‘ was released in 2023 to rave reviews and the same can be described of their live shows\, but the only way to know this is buy a ticket and catch AKA The Syndicate live…and luckily we have the perfect venue to enjoy a band steeped in ska and reggae and 2 Tone music. Ladies and Gentlemen… AKA The Syndicate in The Dublin Castle! \nWith excellent high energy support tonite from New Tonic – From the ashes of naughties Skangsters 2Tonic\, New Tonic are a new take on the band with 3 original and 3 new band members. \nPlaying old New Tonic originals\, some new material and their own take on some of the classics. The 2 Tone/Trojan/Brit Pop/Indie influenced band are intent on freshening up the scene and having already performed at the IOW Festival\, The Cavern Club\, Liverpool and several well known music venues. The band are already making a name for themselves with their electric\, energetic live performances as a must see band. New Tonic\, happy to be influenced but not to be labelled. \nAll this plus dancefloor sounds from the sixties and seventies to right now right thru til 2am courtesy We Got Killers.

DESCRIPTION:Vocalist with The Bodysnatchers and The Specials. \nRhoda Dakar started her career in 1979 as the lead vocalist with 2-Tone Records group The Bodysnatchers. The band hit the charts with a cover of the Dandy Livingstone classic Let’s Do Rock Steady. The Bodysnatchers toured with The Specials\, Toots and the Maytals\, and The Selecter before splitting in 1980. \nRhoda joined The Specials for the More Specials and In The Studio albums and co-wrote the seminal Free Nelson Mandela single. In 2014\, she released the Rhoda Dakar sings the Bodysnatchers album which consisted of songs performed live but never recorded by The Bodysnatchers. \nVersion Girl is the debut album from Rhoda Dakar on Sunday Best Recordings and features Rhoda covering songs by Morrissey\, David Bowie\, The Pretenders\, Patsy Cline\, Louis Armstrong\, Tim Buckley\, The Stranglers\, Maxime Le Forestier\, The Rolling Stones\, Boudleaux Bryant\, & Nick Lowe. \nAn AGMP Concerts presentation. \nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/352037034069395/
